Privacy Policy

MegaTicket (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the MegaTicket ticketing platform and mobile apps in Zimbabwe. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use MegaTicket, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
MegaTicket is an online event-ticketing platform. Events are listed and run by independent event organisers; MegaTicket provides the platform, processes payments and delivers your tickets. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@megaticket.africa.
2. Information we collect
- Account & identity: your name, mobile number and/or email address. Your phone number is your primary identity and is verified by a one-time code (sent over WhatsApp or SMS).
- Order & ticket data: the events and ticket types you buy, attendee names you enter, ticket QR codes, and check-in status.
- Payment data: the payment method you choose and the gateway’s transaction reference. We do not store full card numbers or mobile-money PINs — these are handled directly by the payment provider.
- Communications: messages you send us for support, and delivery records for tickets sent to you.
- Device & usage: basic technical data (IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed) collected automatically to keep the service secure and working.
3. How we use your information
- Create and secure your account and verify your identity (one-time codes).
- Process your orders, take payment, and issue and deliver your tickets.
- Send you order confirmations, tickets, and important service messages.
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes, refunds and chargebacks.
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud and abuse.
- Improve the platform and comply with our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
- Event organisers whose events you buy tickets to — they receive the attendee details needed to run their event (e.g. holder name and check-in status).
- Payment providers who process your payment — EcoCash, InnBucks, O’mari and our card processor (Stanbic/Network International).
- Service providers that help us operate (hosting, messaging/OTP delivery, email) under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by licensed third-party gateways. When you pay, the relevant gateway collects and processes your payment credentials under its own terms and privacy policy. MegaTicket receives only the result of the transaction and a reference, not your card number or mobile-money PIN.
6. Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Order, ticket and payment records are retained for longer where required for accounting, tax, dispute and legal purposes. When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your personal information, and object to or restrict certain uses. To exercise these rights, email privacy@megaticket.africa from the contact details on your account. We may need to verify your identity first. Note that some records (e.g. completed transactions) must be retained for legal reasons.
9. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — keep your login (phone number and one-time codes) private and never share verification codes with anyone.
10. Children
MegaTicket is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
