Refund Policy

Last updated: 30 June 2026

This policy explains when you can get a refund for tickets bought through MegaTicket, and how refunds are handled. Tickets are sold by independent event organisers; MegaTicket processes the payment and facilitates refunds on the organiser’s behalf.

1. All sales are final — with exceptions

Because tickets give access to a specific event at a specific time, all ticket sales are final and non-refundable, except where this policy or the law says otherwise (most importantly, if an event is cancelled). Please double-check the event, date, ticket type and quantity before you pay.

2. Cancelled events

If an event is cancelled by the organiser, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 7–14 business days of the cancellation being confirmed (timing can depend on your bank or mobile-money provider). The non-refundable service fee may be retained — see section 5.

3. Postponed or rescheduled events

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket normally remains valid for the new date — no action is needed. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund within the window the organiser announces for that event (typically a set number of days after the new date is published). If no window is announced, contact us and we’ll help.

4. The organiser sets the terms

Each event is run by an independent organiser who is the seller of the ticket. Organisers may offer terms more generous than this policy (for example a cooling-off or exchange window); any such terms shown on the event page apply in addition to this policy. MegaTicket facilitates refunds but is not the event organiser.

5. Service & booking fees

The platform service fee added at checkout covers payment processing and ticket delivery. This fee is generally non-refundable, including on cancelled events, because the service was already provided. Where the law requires the fee to be refunded, it will be.

6. Duplicate or mistaken purchases

If you were charged more than once for the same order, or charged but received no tickets, contact us with your order reference and we’ll investigate and put it right — including a refund of any duplicate charge.

7. How to request a refund

Email support@megaticket.africa with your order reference (shown on your confirmation and ticket) and the reason for your request. We’ll respond as quickly as we can and, where a refund applies, process it to your original payment method.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or mobile-money provider — most issues are resolved faster directly. Fraudulent chargebacks on validly delivered tickets may result in your account being suspended.

9. Fraud & misuse

Tickets obtained fraudulently, resold against the organiser’s terms, or already used (scanned) at the gate are not eligible for a refund.
